Practicing 3D Forms

Practicing basic shapes. Trying hard to visualize how shapes look in 3D space.

Perspective study of simple three-dimensional forms arranged around vanishing-point guides. Animated pixel-art cube rotating around its vertical axis.

The animation came out smooth. I still have to think hard about blocking out shapes and shading them, but it’s getting easier.

I’m starting to realize that pixel art is closer to sculpting than drawing. The pixels get pushed and pulled by my brush and eraser, and the shading unveils its internal shape.
